This week we had a very special guest reader. Joanne Kaminski is an online reading tutor. She read us Fox in Socks by Dr Seuss. We loved her expressive voice and that she had the book on her computer. Joanne told us she loved reading and our class was very excited to have her visit via SKYPE!! Students in our class wanted to share one of their favourite books with Joanne so we thought we would try out the flip camera. In our class we are working on becoming fluent readers in our Daily 5 reading sessions. Students did a great job of reading Jillian Jiggs by Pheobe Gilman and Mrs Soltau-Heller did her best to put it together. It was our first attempt at this type of Readers Theatre and everyone had a great time. Thank you Joanne for reading to us, we hope that we might be able to do it again! Isn't technology great!

I like this book but I LOVE your reading ! Bravo to each of you ! You are all becoming very proficient readers--I noticed that you are all very good at pausing at the end of sentences and many of you are using an expressive voice. I recognize Isaiah and Kaitlyn and would love to meet the rest of you. Maybe my English class at the highschool could partner with your class in the future?
