April 22, 2013 we will be celebrating Earth Day at Eagle View Elementary School. There will be many activities going on during the day from Kindergarten up to Grade 7. Our day will look different than it usually does. We will be doing several special events to celebrate. From recess until lunch we will be participating in a town clean up. With our Buddy Class, we will be outside in a surprise location somewhere in Port Hardy helping to clean up our community. There will also be students does the traditional River Clean-up (if your child wanted to participate they would have brought home a permission slip to participate)

Please make sure that your child is wearing clothing and footwear that is comfortable and warm as we will be outside for several hours during the day. If you have some garden gloves at home it would be great if you could send them to school on Monday, this way we will not have create more garbage using rubber gloves.

Also please cross your fingers for sunshine!

Permission was given from David Bouchard for the sharing and use of the images and text for this project.

Don't forget that we are walking to PHSS  on Monday just after recess. If the weather is bad students will need proper jackets.

We will be working with our HUGE Buddies (Mrs. Walkus's Grade 10's) to work on retelling David Bouchard's Beneath Raven MoonWe will be using this rubric to self-evaluate our retelling.  We will also be using our LiveScribe Pens to draw the retelling.  After we are done with our work we will be sharing lunch together.  We plan to be back to EVES just after noon.
