Rhino Project – ✔

A couple of weeks ago Siyanda the Rhino arrived in our class. She was the inspiration for us to learn about the plight of Rhinos in the world.  Rhinos are being hunted to near extinction to be used for medical purposes. Ask any student in our class what you could use in the place of Rhino horn (it's gross and I am sure they would love to tell you about it.)

😋
As part of this project we contributed to a collective wiki created by the original sender of the Rhinos in South Africa Kathy Sadler . HERE is this wiki - it is great to look at all the other classrooms around the world and see what they have contributed. It is also very sad to hear that Rhino continue to be poached in Kruger National Park .

This is our contribution to the wiki HERE . These posts have all been researched, created and posted by students in our Grade 2 class.
This project included many of our learning intentions for this year.

Students

  1. described and reflected on experiences
  2. they made connections to extended knowledge and
  3. they used a variety of information and resources to solve problems, investigate ideas and answer questions

and I hope that they enjoyed the learning as well!
