Day 3: What planet do you live on?

Today was a fantastic day!

We got to go to the Science Fair and learn lots of new things from other students in our school. The projects were great! We also Skyped 3 times today with different classes of Kindergarten children. We talked to two classes in BC and one in Washington State. Today we tried small groupings and chatted about our egg experiment, we also chatted with some Kindergarten students who were showing their parents all about Skyping. We saw that other people's eggs look very much like ours. They could see the yellow yolk too! I wonder what happened to the shell of the egg?
During the chats Mrs Soltau-Heller was teaching the rest of the students but she overheard the most wonderful comments about the eggs.

There was one comment that reminder her why teaching Kindergarten and Grade 1 is the MOST wonderful job in the world.

When students were comparing where they lived I heard little voice ask, "What planet do you live on?" and then, "What kinds of animals do you have on your planet?"

Now where could you find a more delightful job?

The other exciting thing about today was that we noticed that the shell of the white egg has completely disappeared and we can see through the egg now!  We can see the yellow yolk in the middle of the egg.  We also touched the egg and the students thought it was "slimy", "slippery", but mostly "gross".  We also tried a new app "Comic Life" to record our observations of the brown egg.

Check it out!
