We did a pumpkin inquiry on Hallowe'en. We wondered what would happen if we planted our pumpkin seeds. Well guess what, they grew! Now we have pumpkin plants growing in our classroom. Ameila and Chelsea documented our pumpkin on Wednesday.

Chickens
We have chickens in our class. We have Columbia Rock ,Barred Rock, Buff Orpington and Black Australorp. So far Three Chickens have hatched. One is trying to hatch. I have had three chickens so far. We have seen the egg tooth in the eggs that have hatched. We have seen the chicks cuddle and walk. They make peeping sounds. They look like they are play fighting some times.
Classroom Champions – Perseverance
Grade 1 and 2 is all about hard work. When we are learning to read and write it can sometimes be so hard, but we keep trying and retrying and sooner or later we get it. We were very excited to hear how +Ryan has to be persistent when he is training. We are learning to be persistent so that we can be successful. Different things are hard for different people and we all have people who can help us. The people who help us when we need it are on our team. We each have lots of people on our teams.
We are lucky kids to have so many people caring about us.
We started blogging!
On Friday we made our first blog post. Most of us are just learning to use the
Kidblog App
We have all learned about and discussed the following guidelines when we are writing our blogs
- Student will only be identified by their first name
- Posts written by students will by checked by Mrs Soltau-Heller before they are published on the blog.
- All comments submitted have to be approved by Mrs Soltau-Heller before they are included on the blog.
- All students must have parental permission to have their photo and work posted on the blog.
- Parents who leave comments are asked to use their first name only so as not to identify their child.
- If you wish to use photos of other students you must ask permission first.
- All students must abide by the blogging rules that we have established as a class.
